Podcasts

I have been really into podcasts lately.  I have found quite a few that I really enjoy, ranging from light and entertaining to deep and thought-provoking.  I will highlight a few of them here.

  1. Magic Lessons :  Elizabeth Gilbert is the author of the book Eat, Pray, Love.  Her newest book, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear,  just came out this month.  This podcast is a companion piece for the book.  Elizabeth talks with 5 women who are stuck in their creative lives and gives them tips on how to get unstuck.  She also speaks to other creative mentors and gets their take on the situation.  It’s a short season, and it really pays to listen to each episode in order.  I learned something from each and every episode, and honestly, listening to her podcast is one of the motivations for finally taking the leap to start this blog.  Two of the mentors that she talks to are Cheryl Strayed who wrote the book Wild, as well as Brené Brown, who also has a new book out this month (Rising Strong).  I love this podcast and I’m sure I will listen to it more than once.
